Automotive & mobility
In-car and mobility products, under safety and glanceability constraints.
Interfaces that have to work at 130 km/h, in two-second glances, across platforms with decade-long lifecycles.
What’s different here
- 01
Driver distraction is a design constraint, not a guideline. Glanceability, hierarchy and voice are safety features.
- 02
Concurrent platforms. A current system, a legacy system and the next one. All in market at once, all under lifecycle management.
- 03
Voice and conversation. Dialogue design, error handling and edge cases for an assistant that can’t show a spinner.
- 04
EV changes navigation. Range, charging planning, dynamic rerouting and charge-time-aware ETAs are the product now.
- 05
Connected services need adoption. Onboarding, pairing, guest mode and profile switching decide whether the ecosystem gets used, and they carry the privacy load.
- 06
The car is a storefront. In-car commerce, branded points of interest and campaigns have to earn revenue without eroding trust.
- 07
One product across dashboard, phone and voice. The head unit, the companion app and the assistant have to feel like one system, governed by one design language across regions.
What we’ve done
Led UX for an automotive OEM’s in-car multimedia platform: home-screen domain ownership, EV and navigation features, voice-agent improvements, and connected-services onboarding that lifted adoption.
Delivered in-car commerce (pay-for-parking, pay-for-fuel, branded map pins and promotional campaigns), opening a pay-per-view revenue stream for the OEM.
Managed UX across concurrent multimedia platforms, one in market and one being sunset, under automotive HMI and safety standards.
Designed features and led multi-region design-system governance for the same maker’s companion app across web, iOS and Android.
Built privacy-by-design flows (guest mode, profile switching, consent, device pairing) aligned with GDPR and the emerging EU AI Act.
What we bring
- HMI and interaction design
- Voice and conversational design
- Multi-platform design-system governance across head unit, app and regions
- Connected-services and onboarding strategy
- Privacy by design
- Product ownership and requirement specification
Principles
If it needs a second glance, it isn’t finished.
Design the sunset as carefully as the launch.
Adoption is a design problem before it is a marketing one.
